my f****** post has been removed on bike radar!! and my pics turned into a seperate post!! somethings afoot.
-
There is a picture of Mike and his bike on RDS's site under 'About RDS'. It looks very much like a similar bike to me. It looks to have same wheels and spokes, same forks and writing on the swing arm. Quite an individual set up, especially those wheels.....
Callum and Colin have a contact number for him .

my first post was deleted so ive tried again
-
this is the bike in question

Hey that definatley Mikes bike because His company is Racing Green! Ive just remembered when I bought a hammerhead from him his email address was something like Mikehammer@racingreen.com
-
no wonder my post got deleted ive found the missing 959!!!! hmmm good job ive never mentioned anything about any stolen bikes isnt it! ;D
-
Yeh to right. He's got some front posting pictures on a forum, but I guess he thought because he's in Sweden no one from here would be looking.
Worrying thing is that he's got an 857 as well. So he might have been a member of this forum or even a friend?
-
best of it is he is the moderator of the forum as well, ive had a few run ins with him cos he hasnt got a clue, thinks he knows everything, told one guy to keep on riding his bike even though his brakes were juddering like hell, i told the guy to check all the pivots and linkages were tight, lo and behold he had a loose bolt in a pivot.
-
Sounds like a right dodgy Git!
I've emailed Mike to let him know about your find and suggested he looks at this link. Maybe he can track this guy down, or he may even know him?
-
its got to be mikes!! ive just found this description of it in an old post!
Thanks for the heads up guys...
The bike I had stolen was fitted with grimeca hydraulic discs, hammerhead adapter at the rear, marzocchi forks, shimano wheelset... quite distinctive. I have not been able to access ebay here from work, I'll have a look at the link Bill sent me in the mail...
In a way I hope it is not my stolen bike, because I don't want to go through all of that.... and chances are that the person selling it actually bought it in good faith, so it would be like stealing it from them too...
It was stolen in Sweden by some low life... probably is on some hill-billy farm somewhere in sweden, or sold for 30 bucks to buy drugs...
Goes around and comes around...
Take it easy,
Hammer.

MIKE MIKE MIKE IVE FOUND YOUR BIKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Unless this guy always advertices other peoples company names on his bike for nothing. And why the comment about 'the bikes not belonging to him ;)'. Hmmmmmm ..... Guilty!!

MIKE MIKE MIKE IVE FOUND YOUR BIKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Does not Mike live in Sweden?
-
yeah he does and thats where this bike is and where mikes was stolen from. read the link i posted and where `nicklouse` is from.
-
its even got a hammerhead sticker on the inside of the swingarm.
-
let's see this through to the sweet end - what can we all do to help? This is the pic on the rapid descent website. Bike on left. It's definitely the same.

As much as enjoy watching a bike theif get hunted down, perhaps this thread needs to disappear to not tip off the thief?
-
Well done - That's it mine's being badged a 959.
Time to get hold of Hammer & get the Police in?
-
ive just sent the guy that posted the pics a message asking him if theres any possibility of the frame coming up for sale, if i get a reply that doesnt include the words `no it was stolen from him a few years ago` then we could be in business.

Ive just read back through my posts from last night and feel a bit uneasy. There's a strong hint of The British Justice System in there - Guilty until proven innocent :-\. Even though it does look bad, Id like to find out that my first conclusion is wrong and there is a perfectly innocent and logical explanation for this. I hope so.
-
which is why ive asked the guy some innocent questions.
-
if you guys want this thread to disappear - just let me know and I'll wave the magic wand...
-
i would be very surprised if the guy in qusetion knew about this forum as he didnt have a clue about either the 959 or the 857 in the pics!
-
ITS OK FOLKS
I texted Mikey and yes, it is his bike but we're glad to say thet he still has this one and still rides it! If, however you see a 959 with grimeca brakes on it and the newer marzocchi (not bombers) then please get in touch!

ah well i tried :) mind u could have just told us on here without making me look like a bit of a tit on bikeradar

Hello Detective-heads.....
Oh my gawd.... you are an excitable bunch aren't you?
First and foremost, I haven't looked at the pictures cos I am firewalled, but callum tells me that the 959 has B4 brakes on it.... so it's not the stolen one, it is the one I still have.
The stolen one didn't have the racing green website on the swingarm either...... or course, it is possible that as I have been away from home for a week that the bikes have been stolen during the past few days....... but as soon as I saw the Name nicklouse.... i couldn't stop laughing.... Nick is one of my closest friends in sweden.......... and as honest as the day is long.
So lets have a BIG UP for Nick..... and also an ENORMOUS THANK YOU to all of YOU.............. keep your eyes peeled... the stolen 959 will turn up one day.
Same wheels as the one pictured here, grimeca brakes instead of the gold formulas, marzocchi forks... the later longer travel type, not Bomber Z2's.....
Keep looking people... first one to find it can keep it in exchange for a beer...... ;-)
Mike aka Hammer aka Conkers (for some reason I am knows as conkers now and cant remember my Hammer login password combo)
Take it easy............. hammer!
-
mike - are these yours as well?

-
Hahaha Well he never told us he had TWO of them! :D ::)
No harm done.
-
If anyone had a good gawp at the 857, you might see that it is a 8 speed version, single chainring up front and my wife rides it..... I took it for a spin a couple of weeks ago... and was amazed at just how good those old 857's feel...............
The bike (857) was actually given to me by Bill W..... it was his old bike.... so it has history.... Not sure how many of you know Bill W in California... I think he has the nickname Carbon Angus on here..........
Anyway...... thanks for the rapid response guys.... I really appreciate it.....
.... and I'll slap nicklouse around the back of his fat ugly and HUGE head when I get home from this business trip..... I knew it was a mistake giving him a key to the garage...... ;-)
Take it easy........... Hammer.
