Title: Spot the mods
Post by: Spokes on April 28, 2009, 02:18:53 pm

Has anyone else spotted the mods on this 4500. Looks to me like it might have a sealed bearing convertion on the rear arm pivot, a bracket where the rear shock mounts onto the rear arm and also a  very interesting way of mounting the rear caliper hanger.
Some one has put a lot of time into this bike. And it sold for just over £400 , what a bargin!

Yes, a very interesting "Oz". I had to fight very hard with my conscience not to put in a bid for it!
I'm surprised that it's not someone from the forum that is selling it, as it clearly demonstrates a lot of knowledge of the bike and it's possibilities, but then again the differences show that they have not been swayed by the direction that many people have taken on here and have gone their own way.
I Like it!
Maybe the new owner will crop up on here?
(I've emailed them a link to the forum)

Hi chaps,
I found it due to Orange's post here & on retrobike. Been after something for 6 months as a birthday pressie & that hit my spot.

Now my XP-X is running sweetly again I'm really looking forward to my first ride on the new bike.

So what is it? 4500, 5500, Oz. I notice you have 2 different oz's Colin & I appreciate you not bidding.

If anyone wants any detailed photos, I'm happy to provide them.

Craig

I think as far as I can work out the only difference in the frames was with the 4500 being finished in a matt finish, where as the 5500, OZm and OZx were of a more laquered finish. They were all taken from the same moulds. Some one correct me if im wrong.
Ive checked my OZx and there is no serial number that I can see, so without the original decals it would be hard to say which model it was.
Well done though thats a lovely looking bike youve got.

Chris

HUH??? Did you mean componenometry?  Componenometraily speaking, I think we can make an affirmative argument that you are correct.  :D ;D ;)
