Title: Proflex Touch Up Paint
Post by: craiga on March 20, 2009, 05:54:18 am
Hi,
I need red & blue touch up paint, particularly red for my XP-X.
Does anyone know of any?
Many Thanks

Nothing came with the bikes from brand new, so pretty unlikely for any to be available aftermarket.

I religiously kept the touch up paint pots supplied with my Marin Pine Mountain, but when I came to use them, they had dried up and were unusable!

Maybe try a auto spare parts shop for car touch up paints?

It's a wicked Red on the XP-X isn't it? maybe a Ferrari colour? <GRIN>
( I was gutted when I accidentally kicked the top tube of mine with my SPD shoes with Toe studs! )

the red your talking about colin is almost identical to a ford colour that i think is monza red.

Mine came with 2 nail varnish sized pots of the red and the blue when we bought it for Mrs Tel, I still have them in the cellar. the scratches are now a bit much for them though, but the garage i took my van to this morning says they can respray it in the exact colour and scan and remake the stickers fit and lacquer them in for me using a softer paint to make it less likley to get so many stone chips.
 Cheers, Tel.

Colin,
You're right, it is a wicked red  - I was once passing someone at Center Parcs & they described it as a Ferrari.

I too have caught the top tube & have 1 chip that really irritates.

Tel,
How about a loan of your touch ups? - don't need much.

I never thought about touch-up paint for my Proflex's, but now that I am thinking about it, I'd love to know what color my yellow 754 was...obviously yellow, but it had an almost opalescent sheen to it that made it look really nice...
