Is it possible to fit a 10 spd cassette on an 856?

Will it fit the swing arm. If it will work I would have to get a shifter to match the cassette.

it would fit as they are the same width as 9 speed, at the moment i think only campagnolo make a flat bar 10 speed shifter at the moment, my question would be why would you want 10 speed on a mtb? slightest bit of mud and youll be left with no gears as there will be no room for the mud to shed.

there should be no prob with the swingarm ...
the gaps between the bevel wheels are narrower than on 9 speed and as far as I know the total breadth of the 10 speed package is the same as on 9 speed. (can someone copy that? but I'm quite sure it is)
What you need is a shifter for 10 gears which runs on flat bars not on those racebike bars.

they are available.

have a look:
