Title: Risse front shock for Way Big 4000?
Post by: DugB on August 28, 2008, 09:00:51 am
Hello all,

I was going to tack this on the "titanium springs" thread but thought it was different enough to ask separately. So I have a Way Big K2 4000...the SmartShock on this bike has an extended bottom rod that leads from the lower spring retainer (and damper knob) to the lower eye...the piece looks to be solid aluminum and perhaps 1" long or longer. I'm not sure if it's removable.

Anyway, we keep talking about Risse's being one possible replacement shock for these bikes...but would a Risse work on my front given the length difference for the Way Big front shock? For example, if the standard front shock length is like 8.5" then mine is like 9.5".

Thanks in advance,
- Doug

That means you've got "Long" Crosslinks which is correct for a "Way Big".

standard Noleen shocks are 209mm I2I

Longs are 246mm I2I

Ah, thanks for the measurements! Yes, they are certainly long! I guess I'm worried that I'll be screwed if I ever have to replace this front shock :-/

I would think that risse should have a shock suitable for you...
