Title: WTB: ProFlex Cable Ferrules
Post by: DugB on August 20, 2008, 10:27:29 pm
Hello all,

I did some more work on the ProFlex 856 frame I bought for $50 a while back...the bike is basically together and as I was preparing to start stringing the cables I realized I'm missing 3 of the gold-colored ProFlex cable ferrules. I know I could get away without using them, but I actually like 'em...just another way ProFlex overbuilt these things.

Anyway, if anyone out there has 3 extra they don't mind parting with please send me a PM or simply respond to this thread.

Thanks!

I was missing one on my XP-X (856) after my LBS thoughlessly replaced the rear derailleur cable run with a through cable and binned my lovely ferrules, one of which was never to be seen again!

So I bought one of these:

Silver and in the UK, I know, but just as an example.

Ah, great! Thanks for posting that. I actually found some cable adjusters among my Bing carb parts (I restore old BMW motorcycles) that worked for the time being minus the locknut. With them I finally finished building up the 856 frame I found on Craigslist for $50. It should make for a nice rider...nicer once I receive the set of COR springs I just ordered from Callum/RDS and rebuild my ODS's.

I may still hold out for some original ProFlex cable stops...anyone have any to spare? I need 3 more to make the full accompaniment of 6.

Thanks in advance,

- Doug :-)

I've got some you can have, unfortunatly the gold had faded so I've polished them silver.
You could just get them re-plated.
If you want them then just send me your address.

Simon.
