I think that shock is a tad short :D :D Love to see it with wheels in wooh low rider
Thinking about it for the right price it could be a good buy parts wise.

Yes Way!!!
OMG, that is a real Chimera isn't it?
It's actually worth more as the bits......
i.e. I wouldn't mind a spare rear swing arm for my Oz's etc and a spare working Smart shock? That's pretty good if the compression is working! Never mind a few spare nuts and bolts from the X-Links.....
Just the small 856 frame that's not much use really......unless one has a spare x56 Swing arm (smug grin).
Go on, someone buy it and stick some wheels on it for a laugh!

yeah but if the previous owner was on to something that none of us had even thought of!!!!!!!!
what is the longest shock i 2 i to put that thing's geometry right.... what sort of travel could we be talking???
anybody fancy winning the kamikaze on a super long travel pro~flex and putting us back on the map...
people are gonna be crying out for pro~flex's with super duper long travel...
ooer plus it's gonna be about 3" longer wheel base!!!

No Freaking Way?
Actually, "freaking" is the only way...
...I do miss my crosslinks, tho. hmmmmm...

No doubt the seller got it at a garage sale because the last person who had it realized what a mess they'd made...I'm just wondering whether I could cobble a usable bike out of the parts he has there and what I could cannibalize from my 754 and Animal... ???

I just couldn't resist having an experiment with my bits and pieces......
Just offered up an Oz Swing arm to the XP-X............it didn't look too happy about it!
and compared the Oz swing arm with an x56 swing arm............
Wheelbase would be 150mm, 6" Longer!
A shock to keep the bike level would need to be about 320mm, 13" Long!
I remember joking about doing this with a spare x57 swing arm on my x56, but I was only joking!
The width of the pivot mount on the x56 frame is wider than that of the Oz so something may have been butchered or forced to make it fit................
out of interest, the x56 aly swing arm (without STRUT ASSEMBLY) weighs 777g / 1lb 11.5oz
and the plastic/carbon Oz swing arm weighs 1067g / 2lb 5.6oz
Reminds me of the time I got my stock x56 BEAST out to photo it to sell and some local kids asked me if I had built it, they thought I had actually made every part of it 'cos they'd never seen anything like it!

when i had my fully mcu non ods 756 it was a very light bike

Would be great spare parts...I was thinking this bike could be a DH bike the way its set up but I'm not familar enought with PF geo or if it would work as a DH and what current DH geos are?
Thoughts anyone....
???

i think for that to work as a d/hbike you would need a set of forks off orange county choppers ;) as the head angle would be waaaaay too slack, its only good for spares but it could be well worth a punt as split in half you could make your money back easily.

Yeh, only suitable as spares, but note my point about pivot point widths, so beware what has been done to it.
One photo even clearly shows that the front derailleur won't fit or work!

At least you can't say he's being dishonest!............Caveat Emptor!
I note that he didn't post or reply to my Q where I asked him if he was aware that it was completely the wrong Swingarm for an 856!
