Just got a day pass and registered for the roughride (www.roughride.co.uk) and wondered if anyone else is going.
Got to travel down Sunday rather than camp over, but seems fair enough of the Mrs. given we've added a with a 4 week old baby to the tribe. (6 years, 4years, 4 weeks - that's my evening rides shot then!)
Took the oldest on a little forest ride last week and she loved it - came back and told everyone "I fell off in the mud, just like daddy does". Nice to know she has a realistic perception of my skill!
cheers

Excellent!!!!!
Congrats on your recent addition. My most recent addition is 14 years old now. Don't know how I would do without her "You are the creepiest dad in the world" looks. ???

I might . It all depends on the weather between now and then , plus work, my lower back pain settling down.
Intend on doing the 75km on my OZ.
Will post on here on Sat with a Y / N

Yep,
I'm doing it on my Red 4000se, 3 of us from "Harlington Off-Road Cycling".
See you there! What will you be riding?
We're making a weekend of it, Saturday arrive and Monday back.
My Nephew's first off-road ride resulted in him hurtling down a hill and flying head first over a log into a load of brambles.....'cos he didn't know what the brakes were for! He described it as......."I had an adventure........." This is what my big Bruv and I now say whenever we arrive home covered in mud and blood................
Off for a quick warm up ride this afternoon and then pack up for the Rough Ride!

Will be on the 957, although I'm tempted to take 550 after having a hoot on it last week at Thetford (Center Parcs family hols - 3 mornings on the black run, only called this for the colour of mud I'm sure. Turning canti blocks over and wearing the points back down, anyone else or just me?)
CATS MBC, should be 3 of us too, other 2 are going sat. Aiming to set off by 6.30 for a 2 1/2 hour drive.
At least no hangover from beery camping this way - although 3 hours sleep from nipper probably cancels that out!

NOt going to be able to make it unfortunatly. The cost of fuel plus entry together with my lower back giving me grief means i will be not be attending, shame really as its near to Builth Wells where they do the Meridas, and the scenery is stunning around there.

Sorry I missed you Col. Hope you had a good ride round. Excellent ridin' Hard work though!

Yep, I woz there! (4 of us in the end)
That's the toughest day's riding (and pushing) I've ever done!
You didn't see me 'coz I woz at the back!
Fantastic conditions, if anything a bit too hot and sunny, but better than rain! Trail conditions were superb and excellently marshalled. (Max Speed =38.8 MPH Off-road!!!)
Great day out and we all agreed we'd probably do it all again next year!
Great Cider in the pubs in town and a gallon of farm scrumpy to take home!
Tired, achy but with a big GRIN!
(Might do the FNSS at Delapre, do you know what that's like?) (and also considering the real ale wobble)

Sorry Col - never ridden at Delapre Abbey. Can't get out guaranteed in the evenings, gotta get nippers to bed.
I'm looking at doing more of these utterly draining, excruciatingly painful endurance events too. Forgotten about the Wobble though, cheers.
I thought I was doing well with same top speed as you, and then someone came past me like I was stood still.
Got compliments on my ride from someone on a Litespeed Sewanee.

Well, I was there again this year, and guess who cruised up alongside me on my 4000se, but Ade on his Shiny 957!
We chatted for the last 1Km into Kington, two PRO~FLEX's going over the Finishing Line together!
6 off us took part this year and we had a much better experience than last year, not nearly so hot and I came better prepared with Isotonic and energy drinks/gels.
A great ride!

And a fantastic day out it was too. Nice to meet you Colin.
I was definitely fitter this year and concentrated on drinking better. Whole hour faster than last time. Using this as one of my training rides for my first Ironman.
Warning - shameless self-publicity imminent- I'm doing Ironman UK on August 2nd this year. It will be my 4th ever triathlon and first long-course one. Raising money for SCOPE at www.justgiving.com/adrianstewartironman (http://www.justgiving.com/adrianstewartironman) so instead of having a chat with Colin and sitting down with some stew I'd be hopping off the bike for a marathon :'(
cheers

and also considering the real ale wobble
If anyone fancies that this year it's my annual pilgrimage ;) This will be year 13!

I'm seeing what interest I can get from my regular mob for the Real Ale Wobble.
