Title: Seal Spacers
Post by: mrkkbb on May 17, 2008, 02:37:42 pm
Does anyone where I could get seal spacers (#14892) for the rear shock unit on the 855?

Thanks

you could try iron horse....look at the "placeholder" sticky and there will be a link to a postre iron horse...and then a email address to iron horse....use the later one.In the meantime have you got a diagram or link to a diagram of where/what the part is?

The part is identified as #7 in the following strut assembly diagram from the "How Tos" section

http://idriders.com/proflex/resources/97_spc657_strut.pdf (http://idriders.com/proflex/resources/97_spc657_strut.pdf)

I'll give Iron Horse a try.

Thanks

That diagram is for an ODS, do you have that or a x55 type friction shock?
Not sure that the spacers are the same?
Anyone know?
Do you need the spacer tube, part No. 4, as well?

Where are you? (UK/US etc)

No, I have the friction based (x55 oem) shock.  However, the seal spacer should be the same for WC 855 as for 856 (and 657). K2-Tech gives the same strut assembly for 855, 856, and 857. Perhaps someone here could confirm this.  I am located in Canada.

I'm looking towards getting my 855 back into the woods sort-of-speak.  But if I can't replace these spacers, which are seriously worn out, the bike is done! I'm not willing to pay 200US for a Risse shock - I was hoping to purchase elastomers from Rapid Descent.

Cheers
Rob

I'm sure you could make something without too much difficulty at worst? It would be a shame to not be able to use your bike becasue of something so small.
