Help! my poor 656 is in desperate need of an upgrade, I managed to aquire a set of ODS shocks, the thinking being to upgrade to callums springs. The problem is that the holes in the shock body are different diameters, The NON-ODS is approx 12.5mm then bushed to 6mm for the bolt, and the ODS shock is about 9mm. The problem is I do not have the attaching parts I.E. smaller bush and plastic collars. little help!
I am doing the coast to coast in september and want my baby ready.

Crosslinks use a thru-bolt at the top, and you could surely shim that to work.
The bottom uses a solid shaft that has screw threads at each end to attach at the fork, with big o-rings to center the shock. That is the way I would adapt for the ODS.
Or get some elastomers.

elastomers are not the problem, my NON-ODS has 2 new ones on. as for shimming it is not the space between the 2 legs its the difference in hole diameters in the shocks, I would have thought they would be the same, the other end is. Even better would be if someone had a spare spacer that I could have,

I changed out my non ODS vector friction shock to a Risse Air shock. It used the same lower parts, so I imagine that may work somehow.
Noleen shock service may have extra parts.

the ods should have an aluminium bush running thrugh the shaped rubber bushes,As far as I know all the shock mount used the same bolt(s)

Hi I have been a complete nugget, the guy who I bought the shocks off has obviously swapped the bodies over at some point, the body I need is on the rear shock, I've never looked at it for months, pulled it out today to ebay and noticed the deliberate mistake. :-) ::)
