Check out the results of the annual Frozen Hog Bike Race at http://www.utahmountainbiking.com/
I usually race my Oz, but opted for a hardtail with 2.5 tires that I studded this year. It was a tough course as we have had a ton of snow. 100s of hour were put in just to keep the single track sections ridable Slippery packed icy base that turned to mush on the second lap. Had to run/push bike 60% of second lap. I took 6th in Sport 40-49. The studded tires were great. I just waited for the rider in front of me to crash, and I passed him. If I were only a faster climber, I could have placed better. http://picasaweb.google.com/1mtnbiker/FrozenHogWinterBikeRace/photo#5162598284561542434
The bike to have was the Surly Pugsley. http://picasaweb.google.com/1mtnbiker/FrozenHogWinterBikeRace/photo#5162597880834616290
There was also a new Avantix $12,000 dollar bike on display. It had poor tire clearance and you can just imagine the rock/mud/stick/bug/etc. collection you would get in the open tubes. Jerk dude wouldn't let anyone ride it...

Good thing the race was yesterday as we have received over 6 inches of new snow today and it is still snowing heavy. Anyone else enjoying ;D snow riding?

:o don't you get winter?
They get Armadillo winters in Texas. My sister lives in Portland. Everything there is "Supersized" there. When you have winters, you have WINTERS. When you get a nice day, you get a NICE day, and so on. When you get chainsaw massacres, you get CHAINSAW MASSACRES! ;D

I remember "Frozen Hog" winters growing up in New Hampshire... We had fun times like "Never got above zero F for 30 days."
We actually played pond hockey as late as April!
Here in East Texas people look at me strange when it's 19 F and I ride in shorts!
Arghh!
