Hi Everyone
For the past year i have been sourcing parts bits and pieces from all over the world in order to complete what is essentially a brand new PROFLEX K2 5500c with the latest kit on it, Ive waited ages to get one of theses bikes again. I Had one at the young age of 18 when they first came out but unfortunately education called and I had to part with it, so its been 10 years in the waiting but finally I have one again and as im sure everyone that owns one of these I feel like a proud father lol. well nuff said here she is. let me know what u think guys!!!
With all carbon FSA Bars,Stem,Seatpost,saddle.
I sourced a brand new pair of carbon crosslinks still in their box.
I have a SRAM set up using x-o rear mech and twist shifters.
About to fit an xt crank (not shown here).
Ive fitted a manitou swinger 4way.
Just add that bit of bling and complete the bike the Spin wheels.
Soooooooooooo Sweeeeeeeet and a great ride

Thing of pure beauty...
Ironic isn't it? You built a bicycle to create a massive "carbon footprint."
That bad mamajama belongs in the MOMA.

(it looks fast just sitting there)

Very nice :)

Your Bike is, in a word, SAVAGE. Welcome to my world: the land of OZ--in your case 5500c....
-
Cheers guys thanks for the compliments im also for some reason I dont know why i must be bonkers upgrading 4500 at the moment so will hope to have that completed to a similar spec after chrimbo.
YOU JUST HAVE TO LOVE THESE BIKES!!!!, im so sad to see my 755 going :-(
-
Put a high spec pedals there, and you have it.
-
Very nice indeed.
I've just been through upgrading my 5000 and am still in love with it even though it weighs more than my wife!
I'm about to change the rear NS-4 for a manitou swinger 3way so your shock swap intersts me. What size bushes did you get for it?
Rgds

I was lucky enough to get the bushes custom milled, It took some modification of the shock its self to be able to fit the 4way in there.
-
Do you know if they are 6 or 8mm bolts?
-
so that's where all the carbon went...
nice ride...agree about the pedals though, get some Time ATAC XS Titan Carbons and your carbon swarm is complete. that is, unless they make carbon MTB tires, which could then be inflated with carbon or some other non-explosive non-metal
-
is it me or are your levers set up very close to the vertical plane....should be a straight line over your forearm over your extended fingers resting on your brake levers..if you stand up a ot they would be slihtly lower than if you were a flatlander

if you stand up a ot they would be slihtly lower than if you were a flatlander
Huh?:-)
