Title: Is this really an 857?
Post by: orange on October 05, 2007, 10:27:23 am
did the 857 ever have an alloy swingarm? I reckon the carbon one broke on this and they replaced with the alloy one.

It's on ebay just up the road from my in my home town.

It's a small isn't it? Problems with the shock on these models I think?

Yes, you are right, it is a small. The only problem with the shock is that proflex notched out the resivior just under the eye. For the life of me, I can't reason out why they decided it was necessary other than to clear the cutout in the frame.

What I did on my wifie's small frame after the shock blew, was get a good one from Kiwi, and a notch the frame. Now it will fit any NR1.

I know, TMI, but the privious owner had jacked up the original shock to no end.

By the way, that 857 with the yellow bits is pretty shnazzy.
