Title: Low Evo bb
Post by: wylyman on September 30, 2007, 05:13:27 am
Hey all,
Anyone ever make an extension bracket for evo frames.  I have seen some bikes posted with longer travel fox shocks.  What would extending my shock from 8.25 to 8.75" do to my head angle?  I would like a little more clearance for obstacles etc.  It would probably reqire drilling a second hole to prevent it from rocking.  Just wondering if anyone has ever done such a thing before I go expiriment on my frame!  Maybe I should just get a longer stroke shock?
I currently use a risse air shock.

Found a manitou swinger 4 way on ebay with 9.5 length.  How much would that scew up my head tube angle?

Not sure of the actual change in HT angle, but that would be a BIG change. We've had guys on this forum go as high as 8.75 with okay results, but the feeling I got was that 8.5 was the biggest eye-to-eye people were actually happy with. If you match the increase in the rear with a longer front fork, it won't change your angle much (if at all), but it will still raise your BB height (which you may or may not like - gives you better clearance for your pedals, but doesn't feel as stable...)
