Today was one of my worst day ever. Going back from my favorite track here in Chile, a stupid accident kill the swigarm of my totally upgraded K2 Proflex 5000.
The problem... you know, where to get a replacement swingarm?
If you have the answer (swingarm or complete frame), please contact me here or email me to patrick.howard@telecheque.cl
I'll appreciate your help. Thanks,
Patrick

Sorry.
You can read the sticky at the top regarding IronHorse parts. As I recall last year, they did have replacement alum swingarms( will fit 5000, not 5500) available. Many people prefer the alum kind. I have one on my 4000 and it is very good.
Try calling them. If you need the part forwarded to Chile, I may be able to help.

I guess keep an eye out on Ebay - I'm sure I saw a swingarm once, but other than that maybe a complete frame (will be costly I guess though).

What happened to it? Is it cracked or do you have a loose drop out? I could be saved.....

Itīs cracked in the outerface of the left arm.

Ouch....I've heard of frame repairs but swing arms? They do come up from time to time. Put a request out on craigslist. Good Luck.

First the good news I have a new one off an Oz.
Bad news is the pivots are already reamed out for my
conversion to my sealed precision bearing system.
I'm not in a position to supply the relevant parts for
this conversion at the moment, however I can supply
all the info required so you could have the through
shaft and shims made yourself, plus source your own
bearings etc.

Phowardm,
In a pinch, I could duplicate one from the shafts I have to go with Simon's swingarm. Then it would just be a matter of sourcing bearings, standard washers, and nuts.
The key is high strength aluminum like 7075, which I can get a hold of.

Thanks for the offering. Now the big deal is to get one of your conversion kits and the "firebird" will be back on the track. Do you have any of the parts?
Terry
The shaft is the main thing of the kit, but in Chile the Ti bolt could be hard to get too. Let me coordinate all the parts before doing anything. Thanks,
Patrick
