To night i have finally made a change to the forum that allows only forum member to enter the forum.Guests cannot read until they register.I dont know if that will make any difference to the spammers freeloaders and lately the porn posters.....more importantly will it be a dis incentive for lonely proflex and k2 owner surfing the net trying to find a home....i can "unset" it allowing guests to read only.....I think thats how it was set before

up to you mate but I'm happy to delete porn stuff if you want to give me permissions - I check the site every day (probably when you're asleep down under!)...
-
Aye- it may be a good idea to have a mod in each timezone to get rid of the crap asap............wouldn't mind if it was decent quality filth!!
Cheers,
Dav

i dont know if being a mod allows you to delete posts or not,I guess it does because i didnt delete a couple of the previous attacks....I will email Dave to see will change your status to a mod Orange.I dont think Carbon Kiwi is very active nowadays so maybe you can step in for him...I will have a look but i dont think i can change your status, there are actually six mods
-
cool - will wait to hear from you
-
As a moderator, I delete the junk posts whenever I come across them... (And occasionally I even repair picture links for people who weren't quite sure how to put them in posts).
:)
-
Since i've never seen any of that stuff -
I appreciate all you guys do.
Thank you,
OP
-
i deleted another few posts tonite
such as
Hillary Swank Strips in Kitchen!!
opening the post so I can delete it there are similarly titled links to who knows what.
I appreciate everyone who posts stuff we can alll use,the discussions we have, the bikes we share...
I dont appreciate those freeloading *&^%$
I need to know guys wether you agree with the "must register to do anything even read" policy

If it will help hold down the SCUM I am all for it. It's not like it is a major hassle to login.
-
equally though, between the mods (and if I were made one too), it's not that hard to delete such posts as I wouldn't want to put off casual passers by either. It's a tough one to answer really...
-
I really don't know much about this spamming, but if it helps you then require register. Does the registration reveal the identity and location?
Orange has a point, it may discourage the passerby from browsing, and if some new mods would help, the smut would be knocked off fairly soon. When I saw them, I would have erased them on the spot, so I guess I would volunteer also to mod. We could be self policing so to speak. If it still is a problem, then back to register.
It is just amazing to me that someone just keeps posting this stuff. Has to be time consuming, but maybe it is his/her income.

not time consuming at all sadly - they have automated means of doing it

They're BAA-AACK. Now I really HATE them!

well it doesnt make any difference to them so i will move back a step to require registration to post.Guests can only read the forum.I think a lot (if not all )the "false members" have some kind of automatic registrations.I delete up at leat 50 or 60 at a time, aand most of them have absolutely no information in their profile and most display no IPaddress in the members list. Most of them never seem to post, but most of them are deleted within a day or three. The recent poster of some porn posts did have an IP address so i dont know if he used a "robot" to make his post.I will get Dave to make you mod too Terry
