I have a proflex 753 Generation 4 that has a wicked hard elastomer that also appears to have shrunk as I have about a 1/2" play in it now with now contact to the elastomer. I think I bought it (new) back in 93 or 94? Does that sound right for a 753? It has a Rock Shox quadra fork and is green paint job. It has the Deore top shifters (the next year they switched to thumb shifters.)
I checked out the scotland site rapid descent to look for elastomers and they don't seem to have anything for the 753.
Anyways if I can get a replacement elastormer that would be great. If not then I will remove it and get a machined part to lock it out and make it a hard tail.
It still is a great bike but the play in it is driving me nuts!

There's a guy over here (UK) who might be able to get one out to you: user SLIM. PM him and he might be able to get one.

Yup- the 753 has a single elastomer, looks like the same size though as the double stack ones- don't know if it may be possible to use a longer bolt and tube to take a double stack, or if that would bugger the swingarm geoms.......
Have a look too at:
http://www.risseracing.com/proflex.shtml
http://www.risseracing.co.uk/database/cvi4.php?make=Pro-Flex&model=753&year=1993
They do refit shocks, and I'm sure have elastomers somewhere in their catalogue.
Slim's are much cheaper, mind!!

I have a 753 with shot elastomers & am in contact with Callum at rapiddecentscotland... believe he will be able to fix me up with elastomers. If you still need you might shoot him a message through his forum. I sent him pix of mine & waiting to hear back - Mine has the Girvin Vector 1 shock though
G'luck,

I emailed Rapid descent today with my request. My 753 is a single yellow elastomer that got hard originally but then when riding it in the heat it mushed into a yellow pancake! If it sits it hardens up then when I ride it mushes!
Anyways the full spacing measures 2 1/4" and with the washers and backing plates for the elastomer it looks like it took a 1 7/8" to 2" elastomer.
Thanks for the suggestion.

Hey Rad,
My 753 has double elastomers for both front & back, Vector 1 in the front, Generation 4 swingarm... - sounds like the spacing is the same as your single elastomer model. I figure I can always add spacers, or cut em down if they don't fit snug out of the box. I expect mine in about a week. I'll try & post a follow up report when all done.

Hi guys,
I just replied to the posts in the rds forum. I'm still looking for a few measurements from you. I should be able to get you something that will work.
I can easily do a single 50mm high elastomer - I have loads in stock because they are used in the 855 kits.
cheers

If you know the hardness you can always buy some from McMaster Carr. They sell it with a hole through it and all you need is to cut it to lenght with a hacksaw if need be.
