Title: New Proflex Website
Post by: sammydog on March 18, 2007, 12:22:45 am
Just taking a break from some mtb club (http://www.hmba.asn.au) related buisness tonight and stumbled across this web page (http://www.proflex-usa.com/index.php?option=com_frontpage&Itemid=1)

I knew some people had been riding proflex at some world cup rounds, but didn't knwo they were in production.

Wonder if they will get back to dual sus bikes and if there is anychance of them bearing any resmblance to the original bikes.

Actually reading closer, the 6 and 7 series bikes for 2007 will be dual sus, although somthing that looks more like an iron horse.

Should be interesting to see how they ride.

I see the brand name is Proflex USA. Kind of reminds me of Scott USA.

But the company is based in Spain, and bikes origin in Asia.

Let's hope for the best.

Sincerely, I'm happy they have nothing to do with the original ProFlex. That's what makes ours so special...

Ah, but their logo still has the cool yellow squiggle between Pro and Flex...

The carbon frame looks pretty sweet up close. Love the carbon weave pattern. I'm waiting to see what their dual suspension designs are like before I draw any conclusions though...

Also, the sticker on the carbon frame says "designed in the USA," so maybe they're somewhat connected to the original after all (at least in name). Heck almost everybody MAKES their frames in Asia these days... Not sure what's up with the Barcelona location though. Seems like an odd place for a USA designed brand.

Surely a "power curve" or something like that! ;-)

Not really interested in the bikes they've got, but I would be interested in some Riding gear or other ProFlex scwhag. If the logo is the same, why not, right?  Anything to promote the lurve of a classic...;)

If I remember right from the 2007 catalogue, the suspension design is preety standard, nothing to do with the old design.
They have a vertical shock inside the triangle and a horizontal linkage near the BB, with a curved bar near the end of the linkage and the eye of the shock, just as you see in the pictures.
From the prices I've seen, they aren't budget bikes...
