Title: Coil Spring Source and calculator.
Post by: RhinoDave on February 17, 2007, 11:57:03 pm
I'm pretty sure this information has been posted before but it's buried pretty deep by now and since there has been some discussion on shocks and springs, I thought it might be worthwhile to repost. When I bought my six way swinger I was pretty sure the 300 lb spring that came with it wouldn't be heavy enough(I'm 200 lbs). After a little research I found Phat Tire to have a good selection of springs at a reasonable price and bought a 400 lb spring. http://www.phattire.com/frresuresp.html
To figure out what spring I needed I used the following calculator. It seems to work out fairly well but you still need to take into consideration on what your own ride preferences are.

This is cool.  5th Element took down their spring chart from their website so at least we have another source.
