Title: Howdy
Post by: mizunole on December 07, 2006, 11:47:37 am
Just purchased a like new 856 and am very happy with the results so far.

I am thinking of going to a Risse shock because of the Bronco like characteristics of the NR1.

Thoughts?

Thanks OJ, any other 856 tweaks / suggestions?  Does anyone sell frame bearings?

I think Iron Horse/K2 (World Cycles) still has bearing kits for the 856. If not, Simon may be able to help you with a sealed bearing conversion. I really like mine.

A risse rear shock is very nice. The Genisis is very light weight.

you might try a spring change on the NR-1...just a thought, but the genesis is a great upgrade

Yea, I'm a heaffer.  A new spring would be in need If I am to stay with the NR1.  I am also seeing a little oil residue on the shaft after rides.

I like the idea of the Risse, but $300 is much money on a teacher salary.

The bike is almost new (orig owner says 10 rides).

If you were about to get some bike $ for Christmas, what would you spend it on?

Jorge,

Risse will not answer emails well. The best way is telephone.

Welcome,
Terry
