Whats wrong with your old swingarm ??
some parts like loose dropouts can be re bonded in.

It is the bling factor Simon! I have to say that I like my carbon just a bit too much!

And the fit should be straight forward.

I wonder what could be wrong with that frame? The swingarm looks perfect.

Will a carbon swing arm from a 4000 (or 4500/5500/Oz) fit an Evo?

Maybe not because........

I though the Evo used a diffrent pivot kit, i.e. the RK012 needle bearing kit, whereas the carbons use the RK008.

Are these interchangeable?

I'd go for an Evo swingarm just to get the disk attachment!

Also didn't they have the biggest travel of all of the bikes? Was this down to the swingarm, the shock or what? or was it just hype?

Yes,
early Evo's ran the same pivots as the Oz
later evo's had the needle bearings but the swingarms are the same just adaptors fitted to accommodate the needle bearing system which runs in the frame not in the swing arm.

I believe travel increase was achived by a longer stroke shock as all the mounting and pivot points are the same and all had a ratio of 2.7 to 1
except the Animal.
