Title: Crosslink users!
Post by: Scott on May 12, 2003, 07:43:22 am
Very interesting - my xlink rotated the bushings in the small pivots misaligning the bushing/grease ports.  BUT you wouldn't know this unless you take it apart to service-why?  Seems the grease, when under enough pressure, will just squeeze between bushing and knuckle giving the impression of lubing the axle/bushing.  Take your small pivots apart and check that the grease gun easily injects through the port with axle removed.

I have a few crosslinks, and one of them did this often.  If I remember, more tightening of the bolt that goes into the shaft will help fix it.  But I am not so sure, since I can't remember the last time I checked that fork.

happened to me, too first or second time.  i back off the axle bolts quite a bit, pull the legs apart and manually grease the bushing/bearing areas. somewhat anal but theraputic for both me and the fork
