Title: CARBON QUESTION

 anyone know a " safe " way to strip paint off carbon ?

I took lacquer off mine with nitromoors.

 and it had no effect on the carbon ?

not for me , someone has a specialized frame with the carbon tubes and its been sprayed over

was a bit concerned the nitromorse will kill the carbon

figured you guys would know on here

with all the carbon s`arms around :)

No no effect on my carbon 4500,

I lacquered the frame but my origional prep
wasn't as good as it should of been,
the next time I'd stripped her down (for one mod
or another  :-[)
I stipped off the lacquer with nitromoors did a better
prep and re-lacquered it,
don't forget the 4500/5500/and Oz frames are
2 seperate thermoplastic shells bonded around a
central carbon spine,
if in doubt do a test paint removal on a small area first,
nitromoors may not be suitable for pure carbon
not sure on that can only vouch on K2/Proflex frames.
