Title: 4500 noise
Post by: once50 on May 14, 2006, 05:22:11 am
Hi folks,
has anyone got any ideas on how to silence the creaking coming from the swingarm bearings on my 4500? Please bear in mind I have little mechanical nous and wouldn't dream of trying to dismantle the things.
Regards to you all,
Mac

In my experiance
I'd check for loose front and rear s/arm dropouts,
its quite common for these to to become loose,
and creek,
you need to remove the offending dropout/dropouts
and re-bond back in,
another thing to check is the shifter cable guides
through the s/arm but these tend to give more of
a rattle.
if you do need to remove the s/arm checkout my
re-fitting instructions in the files section,
makes life much easier and s/arm removal/re-fitting
no longer something to dread.

Simon.
