Post by: proflex252 on April 27, 2006, 05:59:02 am
Didn't know that flexstems were available for A-Headset, too!!

http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7237006881&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1

size is for 1" A-Headset, he says.

Matti,

thanks for the heads up. (ha ha). I have an ahead flexstem on my touring bike, but this one looks really cool. is that a one piece bar-stem that is attached to it?

could someone translate the listing as even thought I am of german descent, I don't know any german (sadly).

thanks
Dennis

Here the translation:

Time, time and time once again. A lack of time is teh reason why teh seller gave up his retro project. That's the reason why here you can get (matching to his specialized S-works frame on a parallel auction) this rare cult part from Girvin:

Girvin XST (Flex-Stem) Titanium-Stem-Bar-Combination with 1 inch A-Head!!!

This part was available only for a short periode and was quite rare!! It's brand new!!! and superlightweight - 380 Gramm!! The bar is original 560mm wide - stemlength is 135mm !!

Like said super rare and for retro fans and projects a real alternative to early spring forks. Searched nearly for one year to find that part, because Girvin sold only a few with A-head and the seller thinks not one in Europe.

Will send more pictures by email if asked for!

Teh price was about 275,- US Dollar in the mid ninetys !!

More parts in his other aucitons!!

As it is a private auction there is no warranty.

That's what he said!
And Dennis: Where from Germany are you originaly from?
