Hi,
I sell spring upgrades (based in scotland) for the 856/956/XP-series bikes but I don't think they will work on the 756 because the 756 and the 855/955 bikes have a different attachment at the rear.
This is a call out for anyone with a 756/855/955 (in the UK) - if you send me your rear shock I'll either:
+ send you your shock back and a 20 quid note
+ send your rear shock with a working COR spring on it.
(it must be original)
Thanks to everyone who has bought springs.
cheers

callum the 756 has a friction type damper just like a 855 but it does have the cone type end.I dont see you can have a spring cos threr would be hardly any damping. You can have my 756 shock if you want it.
Mines original complete with concrete MCU's

ah yes, it had the rough alloy spindle to provide friction damping... Basically, I am wondering just how unrideable a coil spring in a 756 would be. Would it be too dangerous and coil back on people?
It's just an idea because otherwise, lots of people will have to decommision their pre-ODS bikes...
I have found a compound (it is not elastomer) that might work for thee bikes but I just don't know about the friction damping. I have two basic compounds - I think I will be using soft & hard in the rear (still to work out proportions) and use soft and soft in the front in equal sizes.
Now that I have my new spring rate testing machine, I'll be able to do more work on finding an MCU replacement - I'm doing this because the source of MCU's appears to have dried up.
