Title: K2 at the Sea Otter
Post by: bikendan on April 11, 2006, 07:54:33 pm
saw some of the new K2 bikes at Sea Otter. it was a rainy day and the guy was packing up. i saw the new replacement for the razorback. it's called the apache and there's a women's version. in fact, K2 has a new line just for women, called T:Nine. i asked the guy if iron horse would continue high end bikes with the K2 brand. he said yes. the new catalog has the lithium and the attack, still. he gave me some contacts about k2 parts but i'm going to call the guy and get more info for the forum.
the apache is a razorback that has an extra link on the strut that allows them to get 4" of travel.

have you got any pictures?  I'm interested in what the apache looks like and whether it carriues forward the razorback/oz/957 proflexness that makes the bikes so good.

Here's a post from a while back with some pictures I found...

And here's the pic. Looks more like a fancy Attack than the offspring of one of the great Proflex designs...

This is no replacement for the Razorback! Clearly has more travel. Besides, in spite of the pull shocks inherent stiffness, the lack of ANY replacement/upgrade options should make everyone on this forum shudder! I mean, if we can't modify/upgrade, then why are we here?!  ;D
