Title: Shock pump
Post by: Di.R.T. on May 03, 2003, 02:52:03 pm
I just realized that my two-three year old Risse branded shock pump is a bad pump.  Reads about 80% higher pressure than actual.

Can anyone reccomend a good shock pump (goes to 300 psi) for schraeder valve and doesn't cost a lot?

Thanks

My XMO pump has served me well for over 2 years now.  Supergo has them for $12.98.

That's not too bad. Yeah I'd say about time for a new one. Supergo sounds like a good deal. Also Fox, but more dinero. Very well made.

I would stay away from Supergo's house brand though (Aireon, I believe they're called). I used mine about 3 times, put it in the closet for a year, then got it out again and it "zeroes" out at 50#. I guess that means I just have to subtract 50 from whatever it says, but not being sure that it's accurate is annoying. Supergo's solution was for me to buy another one just like it. No thanks... >:(

On the other hand, I could have just gotten unlucky. It doesn't seem like a bad pump, the gauge just went bad on me... It's very compact, which is nice for some rare occasions, but not really necessary in a shock pump (unless you're doing a long back country ride on a leaky air shock!)
