Had my first ride since having the flu today... (Nasty business, that.)
First discovery: Got home and went to fixing a squeaky main pivot. (This 856 hasn't gotten the sealed bearing kit yet.) I bled the air shock and measured the travel on the shock and swingarm.
The results? 50mm of shock travel gives 90mm of rear wheel vertical travel. 3.5"... not bad for a dinosaur. Digs in like a shovel on those uphill roots and rock steps.
Second discovery: I rode my new Suntour XCP Dirtjump fork with 5" of travel. Wow! That's the plushest $39 I EVER spent. Little bit of brake dive, I but generally stay away from that lever if I can.
What a great bike.
