Title: noleen c-link ELT vs EXP
Post by: kondilemma on February 27, 2006, 02:18:27 pm
Is the only difference (aside from the obvious cosmetics) between the ELT and EXP the shock?  Is it possible to swap parts (i.e. legs, links, shock, etc) between the two?  I'm pondering the possibility of keeping an EXP handy for parts in the eventuality I taco my current EXP.  Sure, i may look like a tool with mismatched legs, but hey--it would beat sitting around, wishing I could ride and waiting for the fedex man to deliver the parts...   [smiley=coolfrown.gif]

Do the NR-1 and 2 have identical i2i and stroke?

And I seem to recall reading in this forum that the carbon and aluminum models are not interchangeable (the legs), but haven't been able to locate that thread.

thanks,

as long as we are talking the same sort vintage all interchangeable.the only difference was the shock.Nr1 had fixed damping nr2 had adjustable rebound damping.I would think the carbon legs were the same dimensions overall too.If they arent it may be because you have a early crosslink vs a late one.(98 crosslinks changed to acomodate the smartshock but the1000, 2000 and 3000 wc frame still  had the Girvin crosslink(NOT the vector) rebadged as a Noleen crosslink

I believe i have the 98 model--the owner's manual refers to the Smartshock.

thanks for the info, kiwi
