The sales guy at a K2 dealer I went to recently said they were still going to be carrying K2 bikes (under that name) next year... I wonder if he knew what he was talking about. He was pretty adamant, but then I've heard guys like that be pretty adamant about things that were dead wrong...

I think armstrong industries (k2's parent co), bought Pro~flex...in 1996, '97 was the last year for Pro~flex only badged bikes. In '98 I think there was k2 and Pro~flex?
Iron horse may keep the k2 badge for a year? .....I dunno, just speculating.

K2 have got a 2006 bike brochure on their site, so I guess they knew they were going to sell the brand and still have bikes for sale in 2006.....?
Some of them look OK, but nothing special.........

I just saw some Lithiums for the first time (in person), and I was NOT impressed with the build quality. Welds were bulky and uneven, and the finish was mediocre. I'm afraid Iron Horse may not be the best company to turn things over to, if we want the brand to improve... Oh well. My next bike will probably be something different altogether. Luckily, I know I won't be able to afford a new bike for at least 6 more years, so the Proflexes will be keeping me going for quite some time!
