finally got round to finish rebuilding my old xpx into something respectable again (even though the wife claims its her bike now!) anyway i finally got round to picturing both of them together. ive now stopped trying to reduce weight any further on the oz as anything significant will cost mucho monies although i am planning to change the tyres when the weather gets better. anyway i think the best plan of attack will be reducing weight from myself as a six months of illness, injury and a painful embarassing rash (yes it was down there :-[ ) have added more than a few inches to my waistline :(

Well if my wife wanted to ride my bike, I would "LOAN" it to her ::). Them are nice rides. Both very rare.
I guess you are recovered? You are right, a time must come when you must lay off the bike and work the bod. I am just quite not there yet. ;D

terry, ive found one way of keeping the peace in my household is to agree to most things the wife says. ive managed to keep hold of the xpx by agreeing to say that its her bike (even though ive built it, financed it and will probably ride it [smiley=laughing.gif] ) i dont have a garage or outhouse or even a shed (do you have sheds over there?) my bikes live in the house, i have a cinelli in the living room, the oz in the computer room and an airborne thunderbolt and xpx in the spare bedroom theres only our bedroom, the bathroom and the kitchen that dont have a bike living in them! as for my various ailments im hoping im over them, especially the rash! (man that was painfull!!!! but not an std i might add ;D )

Hi Jeff,
like you I live in a small hse with no garage or shed.
The bikes have pride of place in my lounge and on a floor to ceiling rack in the hall.
After a ride, the mud slowly dries and falls to the floor where it (sometimes!) gets vacuumed up!
I'm single so the only advantage is that I can do my bike maintenance in the lounge in front of the TV!

Sprucey, your arrangement sounds like mine, except I'm in a small 4th floor apartment (in a 28 floor building in NYC), and I'm married with 3 kids! We have four bikes, a bike trailer, a double jogging stroller, and 3 or 4 other strollers, in our entry way. (Not to mention a huge wagon and my 4 year old daughter's bike, which we leave just outside the door!) It's amazing that my wife puts up with it... Just the other day, we had visitors and one of their kids decided to pick ALL the dried mud out of my Panaracer tires. Huge mess. I cleaned it up before my wife had time to notice...

Hey there Jeff.
I live in a small 2 bedroom/1 bath house with my ball and chain and 2 brats(one in college), but do have a garage to tinker in. I also have a shed in the back yard to house my garden equipment and other clutter stuff.
As for tinkering in front of the TV, I have one in the garage, as well as a fridge for beverages [smiley=beer.gif] and goodies. A must needed refuge when I need space.
I could spend alot more time at work but I find that destructive. My routine of late is work until late afternoon, head out for a ride or hike until it gets dark, then home for dinner and an update on the family chaos, then out to tinker.
Speaking of rashes, the worst I have ever seen was one of my scouts played too hard in the fields above Point Magu Navel Base. Got Poison oak all over his hands and arms, and was a first class nut scratcher [smiley=coolfrown.gif]. A week after our trip he broke out into the nastiest crotch rash ever. I mean it was blistered and oozing. He had to sit out school and lay on the couch with only a towel on his privates. [smiley=diaper.gif] [smiley=disbelief.gif]
