Hi all, was delighted to find a dedicated k2 /proflex site!
on to business.. I have a rotting 92 552 with the elastomer rear end. I want to refurb my bike, and was hoping someone would know if there was a way to convert to a spring on the rear susp, as well as a way to mount disc brakes? ANy other suggestions to overhaul the old beast would help too.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Hey beastmode!
I wouldn't upgrade a 14 year old bike, even if it is one of those marvelous proflexes.
Rework it, give it a new paintjob (strongly recommended: the original painting with new but original decals), replace wornout parts and be aware you got a really rare bike.
But don't try built in a coilshock. This will ruin the geometry of this bike (you would create too much travel and I think every coil shock is longer as needed) and don't put discs on it (even if welding should be no prob as it is a steel swingarm)
If you want more performance get a used proflex x56, x57, 4000, 5000 or stuff like that on ebay. If buying a disco monkey you'll get disc mounts without having the need to build it on your own.
