Going old school here. I got an old Proflex 656 that I just took out of storage and the elasotmer shocks are completely shot. They look hilariously fatigued. I was wondering if anyone knew if and where I could upgrade to the springs for the Girvin Vector II fork and one for the frame.
Thanks!

Im guessing from the signature you are from ickle olde england?
If so you could try

http://www.rapiddescentscotland.co.uk/
After that its ebay or bensons for beds ;)
K2 proflex in the states wont deal with us Brits (no one imports them anymore) and think they are due to be taken over by Iron Horse anyway

Actually, I'm from the states born and raised. My mates at school were soccer players from England...watched way too much Benny Hill, Black Adder, You got served..
Thanks for the info!

you will also need a shock if you want to upgrade the vector to a spring, the rear is more difficult. As far as I know there isnt a rear shock/spring available for the 656.You can get MCU's from k2 ,there is a post at the top of the page with an appropriate title with a link

What size elasotmer or thickness should I get for my out of shape fat self.....245 lbs and counting.....

sorry, we get asked a lot about the 656 rear shock and I can't figure out a good way to update it - except put new MCU's on.
It has no rebound damping so sticking a coil spring on there would be quite a bit of trouble.

Best bet is to get a new shock from Risse. I have the Genesis and love it.

I didn't know a risse would fit a 656?
