I just got a crosslink exp from ebay to put on my 756 and I need a stiffer spring. Does anyone know where to find one at a reasonable price?
The fork came with a 200lb spring. I'd need a 225lb and would also like to try a 250 to get a stiffer ride.
Do replacement springs from any commonly available shocks work?

Try RDI from the links page.
Maybe he has the spring you want. He is doing conversion kits for the MCU shocks.

Me too! I've been everywhere trying to get the right spring made, bought, borrowed, or whatever.
Our friend at RDI is a great source, but by the time you do exchange rates, postage to the US, and the price (not unreasonable), it's actually cheaper to buy a Manitou QR airshock.
If you find a solution under $100, please lemme know!

hey, i've got a noleen smartshock off of a crosslink carbon (with a 200 lb. spring) if anyone needs it!

Also, from what I've gathered, if I were to replace the NR2 that's on the crosslink, is there a particular i2i min / max that I should be looking for?
From what I've gathered, standard is 210mm. Could I get away with 184mm?

Recently some guy sold 7 NIB Manitou QR's on ebay for $39.95 buy-it-now. I only bought one, but shoulda bought 4!
It's a very simple, light, and plush shock with adjustable rebound. I pump it up to 80 psi (200# rider on an 856) every few weeks and have no worries.
Would prefer to go with a spring on the Xlink... but it's just too hard to get the right one.
(I did find a few"industrial" sourced springs, but they are very heavy and uncoated ugly.)

how much do you weigh? a 250 is mighty heavy for the front even a 225 is kinda heavy.
you may want to grease/clean or replace the plastic washers of the fork and inspect them as well.....get a kit RK004 and use the girvin goo or slick honey, preferably.
the fork is very rigid but not very supple, great for washboard, worse for downhill. my experience.
oh, forgot......keep the nr2 on the front, get it serviced if necessary, it's the best bang for the buck for the x~link.

I'm 210lb and I like a firm ride - I figured a 255lb spring would be perfect.
I've not even tried the 200lb spring that's on the fork. I was hoping to replace it before mounting on the bike. Maybe I'll give it a shot while I ponder what direction I should take.

i'll check for a 225 I might have but it's not at home and won't be able to find out 'till mid week.
wouldn't even think of 250 up there, IMHO
i might have had one on at one time just to try, or got it with a new shock or something.

I'm 208# and see 50% static sag on the 200# spring. With only a tiny bit of dynamic travel left I find it just bouncing off the stops constantly. [smiley=turtle.gif]
