Title: Q: what's the weight of a razorback
Post by: proflex252 on August 23, 2005, 09:24:18 am
Hi Folks!

I just bought a look fork. Shall be very light (some 1300 g) and stiff with 80 mm travel.
Should be a perfect match for a lightweight cc / marathon fully.

Just thought about a razorback in size m

Did anyone put that frame on a postale scale or something?

At least it looks light and if it is I tend to buy one and build a exrem lightweight thing.
Just thought about all that "tune" stuff like:
tune cranks (shall be under 700 g with those carbon/titan chainrings and the BB with ceramic ballbearings, but the price kills you. See: http://www.tune.de/Prodikte%20Mountainbike/Carbonkett.htm  )
tune stem or maybe a ritchey wcs because it lighter
tune bar ends (60g)
tune wheelset (some 1450g)
tune squewers and seatclamp (53g plus 30g) http://www.tune.de/Prodikte%20Mountainbike/Schnellspannerinfo.htm
tune bottle cage (9g) http://www.tune.de/ProdukteGoodies/Flascehnhalterinfo.htm
that combined with a XO (or does anyone know a lighter one on the market?)
Schmolke or Easton carbon bar
Avid V Brakes
crank brother eggbeaters
and one of my custom made carbon saddle / post combis (250 g in total) should be possible to go under 10 kg in total

Any further suggestions? All parts shall be lightweight but allday proof.

But first of all I need to know the weight of that frame in M to decide if it's worth the effort (and thousands of Euros, arghhhh!).

CU and hope to get some good replys

Matti

Thx, but no weight info on that site.
Maybe I should contact k2 itself by mail.

But I remember some years ago I asked them a question and they did not respond.

So, didn't anyone ever put his razorback on the scale?

Perhaps this will help.

http://weightweenies.starbike.com/

Go to Listings on the top menu bar and you'll find LOTS of stuff.

They have two Razorback frames listed. Frames only, but it's better then what you've got now.
