Well someone stole my k2 evo 4.0 large in austin tx in early june and i just thought to post it here now. I figured if someone tries to hock it on ebay or anywhere else someone here would find it.
It has alot of aftermarket stuff so it should be easy to identify. it has a grey aluminum swingarm in the place of the carbon fiber one and an 8" avid mech disc on the back. A marzocchi bomber red front shock(z3 2001 i think) with a 6" hydro disc on the front(julie?). Rhyno lite rims. A Kore stem, grip shifts, a sram 9.0 rear and xt front. I think a wtb saddle. truvativ crank, and I think the handle bar was a monkey lite with the rise.
It was horribly ugly with all the mismatched colors and white cables, but I took what I could get and that should make it easier to identify. It also had a sun cycles sticker on it from arizona
If anyone has any info chrisvernor@hotmail.com
I also have a carbon fiber swingarm now that I dont ever think I will need again, accepting offers :(
Thanks

Another partially evolved human has permanently lowered his position in this world and the next.
I'll spread the word in the East Texas network.
Recommend you alert DORBA in Dallas and the big club in Houston.
There are some things I like about Saudi Arabian criminal justice... It's not like stealing a bike will feed a starving child. This is greedy thievery [smiley=furious.gif]

Will keep an eye out. Hopefully it will show up.

I know the feeling-had one stolen from me. It sucks big time.
If you haven't already, make up a flyer with a picture and description of the bike. Take it to any local shop that you can think of.
I did that with mine, and it happened to come in to the shop that I always go to for my stuff, to the guy I always talk to. He recognized it right off the bat and wheeled it behind the counter and called the police.
Admittedly this scenario is a long shot, but every now and then it works out.
And the reason it came in to the shop? 1) The guy couldn't fill the tires with air-had no idea about presta valves.
2) Guy couldn't reatttach the front brake quick release.
Stupidity occurs en masse-use that to your advantage.
Also call up pawn shops. By no means is this an attack on them, but some don't operate as they should. But check with them. I found it easier to say that I was looking for a specific type of bike to buy for myself rather than I was looking for a stolen one.
Good luck...
