ok, so I found a company that can put a carbon weave pattern on the Aerospoke wheels I am going to use on Blue Crush.
here's the question:
I am going to get the wheels painted with a tinted clear coat as I did the Spinergy wheels pictured in my gallery. see below for link to my gallery, check out the first pic,it shows the wheels well.
Do I go with a similar color scheme that I did with the Spinergys? (blue tinted rim area, pearl coated spokes) or do I have the whole blue tinted?
what are your opinions? I know IFO thought the bike would look better if the whole wheel was blue. I hadn't thought of that, but it did start me thinking.
all opinions welcome.

hey Dennis, yeah i reckon go for the blue on the whole of the wheel like IFO suggested ;)
-
i've a 'blue green' deficiency in my eyesight so it wouldn't really matter to me -
i figure, when a bikes well loved, it really doesn't matter what color it is cause it's completely covered in dirt.
to me, that's an aesthetically pleasing bike
OP
(pearl colored spokes - i like that tho)
-
i am partial to OP's OPinion regarding dirt
Dennis, i think you are even a bigger "tart" than me! [smiley=laughing.gif]
i'd keep it similar to what you already have on the current set of wheels.
-
yes, I know I am a huge 'tart'!!
Actually, I have reached a point in my life where I just want to have nice things.
I agree with OP also about how the bike will look its best when covered with dirt, but the color under the dirt is real important to me! go figure.
thanks for the continuing input.

I think It would look better all blue,
Just mine 2cents.
Vitaliy.

I think I'd go with the all blue rather than the fade, but that's just my opinion.
Hey Dennis, you wouldn't happen to be friends with these guys would you?

fevans,
funny you should mention the blueman group.
they are fabulous, aren't they?
btw, I think I am going to continue with the fade. I like it better that way, and just as importantly, my art teacher friend (female) likes the fade better too, and she has seen the current wheels in person. what doesn't show up in the pictures too well is the iridescent quality of the perled clear coat over the carbon.
enough of this nonsense, lets ride!!!!!

vitaly is right just go blue. When I see people try to hard to decorate their ride it begins to clash with the bike's original scheme. It looks to contrived. Stay clean with the decor. Have you ever seen the florescent bikes circa 1990 or the K2 animal’s faux tiger motif. Can anyone say tacky.

dennis i would stick to just the rims being blue.Would be too much having the wheels ALL blue. Not sure about introducing another colour...what colour will the new fork lowers be???
-
kiwi,
the new fork is gray, its very close to the color of the frame, and the fork stickers are blue, silver, and black, which fits in perfectly to what is on the bike already.

paint the wheels yellow and wear a red helmet ;D
-
You mean like OP? :o
Actually, I don't know what color his helmet is, but I'm partial to those bright yellow bontrager wheels he's got! 8)
-
