Post by: thomas on May 12, 2005, 06:32:26 am

My 5500c is a 31.8mm.  But I don't for sure what the 5000 is.

I have an 18" 5000 1998 frame with a Shimano Deore Mega9 top swing link dpull 34.9mm mech with a set of downsizing adapter clamp plates as it is oversized, so guess the seat tube diameter is the next one down, 31.8".
cheers,

Ps I neglected to let the last guy who requested this  (Eric Holland), know that I used the supplied downsizing clamp adapters, (misread the initial diameter), so Eric, if ya reading this, soz mate. (http://idriders.com/newforum/YaBBImages/grin.gif)

If you order a new (2004 or later) Shimano Deore or 2004 XT then the front mechs come with spacer shims to fit all three common sizes.
