Title: any maine riders????
Post by: bikendan on April 08, 2005, 07:53:08 pm
???my nephew, who has been using my '98 4000, is going to work at a summer camp in maine, this summer. he is a avid rider and k2 fan. but he's hoping to get some new england trails on his days off. not sure if the camp has some decent bikes. he'll be the mountain bike/volleyball instructor. lucky bastard. anyway, he'd like to hook up with any of the forum members that are in maine for some rides. let me know if anybody is in the area. he'd love some help in finding some sweet trails.
thanx.

There are some nice trails in Augusta, or atleast used to be.  Augusta is not too far a way.  Hilltop Bike and Ski will be the nearest bike shop, and is on rt 202 headed for Augusta.  It is in the same building as Perkins Music.  Auclair's Bike and Ski is on the other side of the river in Augusta, and those are the guys I used to ride with.  But the best bike shop to go too, and who really would know the most is Kennebec Bike and ski on 201 headed for Gadiner.  Steve runs it and used to prep my bike before races.  I can get and post phone info and addy's if you want.  Steve used to work for Hill Top and just opened his own shop.  He was their best mechnic.  And he just hired Auclairs best mechanic, who was all Mt., and just started riding road 2 weeks ago.  Just tell them Richard Dort sent you.  I need all the brownie points I can get. ;)  I go to school in Augusta, but I will be in Perth Australia for the summer, and live an hour away other wise, so I can't be of much help beyond this.
Hope this Helps,
Rich
