Title: Proflex 853 project, dead or alive?
Post by: davsm55 on March 14, 2005, 01:58:08 am
 :)

Hello, I am new to the list and would like to thank all involved in keeping this excellent resource alive.

I have simple question to ask, I think… I have enjoyed my Proflex 853 racing/recreationally back in 97-00, but jumped back in road racing in 2000. I really would like to get back on it, but have simply had it with the elastomers failing/replacing. Is there an alternative shock I can convert this 853 to, or is it time to replace the bike.

Thanks in advance.

Dave

I think your pretty much stuck here, don't know of any after market shocks that are made for the 853,could make a good project to adapt a shock to fit.

Go to Junkster's gallery. His photos are gold. I don't know what your strut  looks like but maybe you can make an adapter like his. Fox has made shocks with 1 inch of travel if that helps.
