Title: Proflex 957 Decal sizing
Post by: dzflj5 on February 02, 2005, 05:15:36 am
I'm in the process of getting my 957 frame painted and need to know the dimensions of the decals on the top, down and head tubes.  Does anyone have the measurements handy?

These are on our "files" section...  you seen them right?   They were provided by "OP"  Old Proflexer...

I know its a 959 but you can use the Proflex and "P" etc.  Just use the sizes I gave you.

Hey here is a more complete idea of all the stickers on the bike.
Are there any stickers here that don't belong on the bike.
I have even the Pro active sticker for the back swingarm. Can anybody tell me what the dimensions are for this sticker.

I will be printing a batch off soon if anybody would like some just give me a PM.

Hey Ionit

The Pro-active sticker is 4.5" long X 1" tall.  That's 4.5" inchs from the base of the "P" to the end of the red ~ sign.

That's the complete set (besides the Girvin) on the forks.

Let me know how they come out...I won't mind having a set myself.

Title: Decal instructions.

                        Bicycle Restoration Instructions

The ambient and surface temperature is key to having a good adhesion of the sticker. It should be room temperature. (16 to 21 degrees Celsius.) If it is hotter then room temperature the glue will be extra tacky and will be unforgiving during application. If temperature is to cold it will make the paper and sticker brittle.

1. take the old stickers off.

2. clean the area of all dust grease or old glue.

3. Eye where you want to put them without sticking them on.

4. Very important! Make some reference marks. Attention: do not mark in the vicinity that you are applying to or you will trap the markings under the decal causing them to show through.

5. Take your sticker and peel off the baking paper. The other piece which is called the mask will be attached with the sticker.

6. Take your mask by holding it form either end. Line it up with your reference marks and approach the surface. Once you make contact with the sticker it will stay in place.

7. Remove your hands and check if it is strait. Attention: If you notice it is not strait you have only one chance to snap it off with one quick motion. This step could be fatal to the look of the sticker. This procedure should only work if the stick has not yet adhered to the surface.

8. Press on the mask with a plastic squeegee or anything soft enough to not scratch the surface. Your fingers are not the best tool for the job but can work as well.

9. Peal the mask off by turning up one of its corners and lifting it away. The sticker will stay behind on the surface.

10. If you notice any bubbles in the sticker. Poke them with sharp object and Push out the air.

11. Congratulations you have applied the first sticker.
