If your looking for a fox Vanilla RC check out this ad
http://cambriabike.com/SALE/frame/fox_racing_shox_vanilla_rc_frame_shock _'01.htm
It's the 8.5 inch shock and it's only $199.00
I just order one for my 2000 K2 EVO 3.0 frame.
With the extra travel from the shock I figure the total rear wheel travel will increase to 6.71 inchs.
Just thought I let fellow K2 owners know about the killer deal.

Or even better how about $189.00 at http://www.supergo.com/itemdisplay.asp?parentid=20098&secid=24&subid=7582
(http://www.supergo.com/images/items/RearShocks/full/Fox_Vanilla_RC-f.jpg)
Just remember that if you mount this on a small or meduim frame you'll need a 24" rear tire.

One of these just arrived for me in the UK from Supergo in the States - took just 3 days care of FedEx.
Beware though, the spring is a 600 lb rated 2.55" travel. Travel is fine, but the 600 lb spring is way too heavy duty for me at 175lb, and it weighs a hefty 1½lbs!!!
To check out the best spring rate for your body weight go to the spring wizard calculator on www.mojo.co.uk (Fox UK distributor).
I've ordered a Ti spring to go with my Van RC.

So much for the good price! I would sure love a ti spring though. I'm sure you're going to love yours. Can't believe how much they cost. Stratos charges $160 compared to $40 for their steel springs... Even if I had the money I don't know if I could justify that! :o

You can't buy a ti spring from Stratos anyway. They have it listed on their website, but they're not actually available, just like so many of their other parts (all the single crown forks, for example, have been listed since 2001, and they're STILL not available).

I actually think that on a wt loss VS cost basis the Ti spring is OK. I am pleased to hear that Ti stratos springs are not easy to get [sorry stratos owners]. I ride with a real wt weanie who has an enormous stratos spring on his Dare. He is constantly trying to get his bike lighter than my Evo. We are about even now but mine is going up due to addition of heavy duty stuff, while his keeps getting lighter. He just took off his front der and shifter and is only running one ch ring up front. I'm sure he could drop over 1/2lb with a Ti spring if it was available. [smiley=disbelief.gif]

You can get Ti springs from www.mojo.com.
They are in the UK, but they may tell you where you can buy these from in the States, as that is where they had them made / sourced.

I heard there were valveing differences on the newer Fox RC's? The RC Cambria sells is an 01' model and Supergo's is probably close judging by its graphics.
