Title: maximum teeth for middle ring ????
Post by: numbnuts on November 22, 2004, 01:46:11 am
I am switching to a Mrp-Lrp chain guide with no big ring on my Evo and would like to increase the mid ring to compensate for the lack of big ring. I don't think it will be a problem to use 34t but I wonder if I can go bigger 36 or 38. There is not a lot of room between the teeth and swingarm. has anyone tried a set up with bigger than 32t ?

why dont you use a HEIM three ring chain guide, and keep the big ring ;D

You can run a 22/36 or 38 combo, both will work. However, the 38 tends to shift a bit slower due to the ratio gap. I prefer the 22/36 as it still has crisp smooth shifting. Go for it.

thanks RED5, i ordered the guide !

Loko, you should see my big ring, it looks like Holyfield if they let him box again- half the teeth are missing. I know I could get a big ring guard but i like the way the little ones look and there will be more clearance when scraping over an insane roll-in[[i love those], I guess I am just a poser [smiley=disbelief.gif]
