hello, i recently inheritted my fathers Proflex 450. I believe it's from the late 90's or possibly 00' but i'm not sure, i was wondering if someone knew what year it was? Also, it has a Noleen "chubby" front fork; what is this comparable to? How much travel does it offer?
-
The chubby is no doubt the 4 inch travel version. I have not heard of a 450, is it a 4500? Doe's it has have any carbon on it, whether swingarm or frame?

I don't know much about K2's right now, and i didn't even know K2 had a separete "culture". on the frame, it says proflex 450 integrated suspension, but it's made of aluminum, and has absolutely no carbon fiber on it. It has a swing arm.

post a pic!You can upload a pic to our "files" section as long as it is not to big!I would guess that its is around the mid nineties at the latest prolly even earlier! If it follows the normal proflex model numbers it will be a 1990 model!

From what I can see in your gallery its a 857 style frame running an aluminium s/arm with a noleen nr4 shock and as you say chubby forks. I make your model to be a least 1997 as this is when that s/arm pivot point was first introduced tn the world cup frame in the Proflex range.

Just got some more info
It appears K2 had excess stock in 97 of animal frames so they did a re-badged version the 450 and sold in mid 98,one owner on the link below claims they came with the 5" travel version of the noleen chubby fork.
check out some reviews here
