Title: new touring bike
Post by: Dennis on August 04, 2004, 05:56:40 am
I know, I know, its not a K2, but this is my original mountain bike, an old Trek 930 rigid bike. I rode this thing on and off road for about 10 years before I got Oz-ed. So, I decided to have disc mounts added to it and a new paint job to turn it into a classic touring bike. so,  here's a preliminary pic of the new paint that the painter just sent me. What do you all think?

by the way, I had him paint aerospoke wheels (virtually indestructible) to match the silver blue paint (that's Ferrari silver blue paint) and s/s fenders silver blue with white stripes down the middle. This thing is going to be amazing and will hopefully take me on many adventures in the coming years.

Very nice. Don't feel guilty about owning a diffrent brand. Besides there is no feeling better then having a bike you feel proud to ride on.

Maybe someday I'll be lucky enough to own a bike with your name on it...

Matno,
that day could come sooner than you think as money is starting to get tight around my house hold.
I 2, I quite agree with you there about feeling proud riding a bike. I now have 4 bikes (or will soon have) I feel proud to own and ride. Each of them have custom features that I decided upon and no one else in the world has one quite like it. now, if I could only get "overhaulin'" to fix up my car, I would feel proud to drive it!! its cool, don't get me wrong, its a 1989 Shelby CSX, one of only 500 made, but its getting a bit tattered.
anyway, I do have cool bikes!! (at least imho)
