Title: The old K2 5996 adapter... anyone still have one???
Post by: Driggs on April 12, 2019, 01:49:44 pm
Was hoping to get exact measurements of it

I was wanting to reproduce them. I have means to laser cut them, and make them fairly cheap. I need 3 for myself.

If anyone can scan it, measure it, trace it on a piece of paper and mail it to me, or even let me borrow one, it would much appreciated!

So happy to see theres still a few of us farting around on here too still.

I have seen that post and many many images. That being said I was hoping for “exact measurements”  like I asked. If not I’ll make some of my own, but was hoping to go the easy route.

Will it work on the carbon swing arm for a 98 5000. I'd also be interested in measurements as my neighbor has a machine shop in his garage.

Ill find out as I have a 5000 coming my way soon.. Ill make my own brackets soon and just have them laser cut and toss a few on ebay eventually.

Nope, it will only work on the evo aluminum swingarm for later models. I have one currently used on my 2002 Bumpy Monkey and tried to match it to both a 857/957 swingarm and carbon 4000/5000 swingarm with no luck. Something specific needs to be fabricated.

I'd love to find someone that can give me a drawing of one so that I can build one or 2........I have a huge sheet of 7075 aluminum could make a couple.  but my computer with my cad program is down for an unknown period of time so cant duplicate that way.....

If you do a search for the thread Modern OZ build you will see the adapter I used. This is the Hammerhead adapter that one of the guys on here (Mike)used to make. I have a spare that I can trace a pattern for you. It will suit 4000,5000, 4500 and OZ swing arms.
He may still have the odd one for grabs.
