Title: 857, 957, 4000 & 5000 Axle Material
Post by: serviceguy on June 28, 2018, 08:49:46 am
Anybody knows exactly what material was used for the Axles (parts 3 and 4) and the Face Inserts (part 5) in the main pivot assembly? Or what would be the best material to replicate them anyway?

Just noticed this post and I was sure that they are made of aluminium and anodised in either silver or black. As the pivot bolt threads into the one side I wouldn't have thought plastic would be strong enough.

Yeh, part 2 "Bearing" is "plastic" (Nylon? dunno)
parts 3, 4 &5 are metal, perhaps something more exotic and bearing surface like than Aly?
