I don't know if anyone has put this up here so here goes nothing.
I pulled the animal out of storage after 8 years and a run around the block had both shocks leaking oil everywhere. Every company I contacted wanted a min order of $300.
I finally can upon http://simplybearings.co.uk/shop/ (http://simplybearings.co.uk/shop/). They allow you to buy one and ship super fast.
anyway you want a metric oil seal TC4 is the type and it is 20mm x 10mm x 9.5mm. I've been using it fo about one month and it has held up perfect.
Also on the oil, I used 15 w forkoil for the front and rear. It was perfect for the front but a bit too little damping for the rear. If I had to do it again I would go 20W. I weight 168 lbs and I'm using speed spring for reference.
The rear shock is much more responsive than the stock 30W and reacts to even the smallest inperfection on the road, but it bobs just a hair too much. It doesn't obther me but if I had to do it over I would go 20W.
As for the rebuild, I just followed the rebuild instructions I found on some website.
On a side note I changed the fork to a marzocchi mz something and all I can say is wow, want a difference! The vector 2 looked cool but it had too little travel.

That is really good to know about the seal #.
I too need extra travel on the front.

Your not kidding, bar none, they have the best customer service of any company I've worked with.

Just ordered my seals off them and noticed that they are literally just around the corner from me - I never knew the place was there ! ;D

cool. I've used simplybearings as well. very good service. I didn't know that the ODS ran stock parts. bugger, that would have been useful a decade ago when they all started leaking!! - I've sold all my ODS stuff now.

Does anybody happen to a have a working link to the OBS Shock rebuild page? I need to rebuild mine as the oil is sticky and doesn't dampen so much anymore. Thanks guys!

Look under How Tos in the menu on the upper left area.

I can't really follow that document instructions, I am that slow! Is there anything more specific out there that for some reason I could not grasp? Any search for NR4 rebuild comes out empty, I did find a picture of the Smart Shock assembly in its tech sheet available in here, but I can't get past removing the spring...Noleen J6 does not seem to be interested in replying to my e-mails asking to rebuild the shock for me either...
