1  Marketplace / Pheedback section / Re: Twinky4907's(O'dells paintball) Feedback on: November 01, 2011, 06:27:20 pm
haha, looks like this is the horse that just keeps on giving. The barrel that O'dell "serviced" for me literally fell apart last year. The boring was so shitty that the thin part between the barrel and threads just broke. I was standing at the chronograph before a tournament and it just fell off. Luckily a friend had another SC gun I could use, and we won! But still...I bet that barrel only lasted a dozen days of play or so.
2  Phantom Forums / Phorum / Re: Where can I get a carbonfiber feed tube on: October 04, 2009, 09:09:47 pm
I bought some really cheap CF tube on ebay a while back that worked great. The trick is getting the right wall thickness, though. I just used some quality tape to increase the OD enough for the feed cap and it shoved into the feed block like normal.

Since I was led here from another forum I'll repost this:

Just a heads up, this is what O'dell did for me: [In Jan. of '08]

You can keep your goggle rag in the grooves.

I'm sorry to hear about your nightmare, Unimoose. I hate to hear that you and your son are going to miss SPE this year. I've missed it every year, but it's quite the haul for me to trek alone (Atlanta, GA). I would've posted my feedback sooner, but I didn't know this thread existed.

One of the 3D models I made, hoping for a large enough market to make production SC parts, was a valve with an integrated regulator (CP internals). That started out as a modification to existing VSC style valves cut down and tank threaded so that a regulator could be put inline. I think Punisher made some, albeit from scratch, specific to Palmers regs. My point is, there's more than enough material there to make the modification. You could even thread the valve for just the bucket itself and put the pierce pin assembly in the valve.

I don't believe anyone is bent out of shape, unless of course you are, we're just having some fun at your expense.

Then explain why my Karma has been knocked down three points [(EDIT: 5 points)(EDIT: 2 + abs(x) for X := currentKarma)] from This Post. I've been known to get grumpy before, but I'm resolute in everything I've said in this thread. I don't even consider any of it insulting; ever so slightly abrasive at most.

Anyone notice how common it is for people to 'smite' others Karma but how rare it is that anyone is 'applauded?' Practically everyone on the board has negative Karma. A great system for the people, ruined by the people; slogan of the millennium.

Yeah. I have a feeling it'd hit your goggles if it were straight out; just like 15rd tubes (to me).

Nice guns, fellas.

As for milling a slot in the drop, I'd have to urge against this. Use something to provide additional space between the ASA and the tank reg (o-rings, washers, extensions, etc..). Cutting material from a drop with so little is a bad idea.

You guys are getting bent out of shape over my observation of the lack of a key feature of internet communication, notification, and feedback of the foreseeable outcome of this problem. You have to admit that, in terms of appreciation, there's something to be said about a free cell phone compared to a free megaphone. I certainly don't intend to insult Ray with any of this, just as I don't intend to insult the creator of any substitute good that I decline.

All I said, reiterated, is that without the ease of email notifications my activity here will all but expire when life gets busy. If that offends anyone, so be it.

Bulk order discount? Compensation for something? Bakers dozen is your lucky number?

Ah. I'm going to have to let the forum go at some point, then. It's beyond pointless to have to check for new replies to a topic of conversation when every other forum will send you a message of the reply. The vast majority of people here frequent a couple of other forums as well, so I'll just interact with them there.

I'm at 1.8 Phantoms.  I just need the internals for the second one, which are very hard to find....so if you know of any for sell, let me know!

I do an issue with it, now that I think about it. I never receive emails when someone replies to a subscribed thread...

I like it...

It's not much different from any of the other forums, is it? It even has a Quick Reply!

Can rename the Want to Buy and the BST to Do Want and Do Not Want, respectively?

I toyed with this idea a couple of years ago. I actually posted my idea on SCP or the PHOG one, hoping someone would try it. It appears to me that you've gone with an inlaid aluminum portion for the threaded sections (barrel, feedblock and trigger assembly) and a sleeve over a turned down portion of the valve. The method I wanted to do myself was to simply turn down a SC body (I think I measured around .06" or .08" over all, providing .03" to .04" wall thickness for the CF overlay). One piece that that's epoxied to the aluminum body that slides over the turned down valve section with enough overhang to cover a rear mounted gauge. That would require the sear slot to be the entire length, to slide around the valve screw, but that wouldn't be unattractive, I think.

I'm a pessimist, so stop reading if you don't appreciate constructive criticism/theorizing. I'm sure there will be an issue with resin debris created by the internals of the gun. Especially considering that the tube you've used is over size. Another thing I think you could do in the future is convert to a bore drop operation to be rid of the double feeding issue with tiny paint that is so prevalent the past few years. A bore drop style bolt and a creatively mounted feedblock would be required, though. It's just an idea, may be too difficult to be rational when you could just be rid of the bore in the body and use a clamp to secure the body to the frame, comme le Buzzard and my Phocker bodies.

Anyone know where to order the CF like on the DW barrel? I much prefer that type of CF finish than any of the other stuff I've seen. It's very nice, not a layer of resin tape like most other CF tubes.
